Coping with Traumatic Events
July 18th, 2007Tragedies affect all of us in different ways. Some people might react to the stress immediately while others may not experience it until later.
Emotional health and violence prevention are important issues for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The CDCs National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) and its Division of Violence Prevention are dedicated to researching violence prevention strategies and help to fund programs that stop violence before it starts. This podcast features Dr Rodney Hammond, Director of the Division of Violence Prevention, and provides information for coping with traumatic events, such as a school shooting.
