Test Anxiety
July 30th, 2007
I was so scared, so very scared of news, bad news. I hated getting tests and the anxiety of waiting for results. Then, one day I came to appreciate that the tests didn’t create the problems that I had, those problems already existed, the tests revealed to me and my care team the power of choices. Most of the time, before the test was even done, I knew if there was something wrong. In knowing that there was a problem and what that problem was, it could then be addressed. Having the diagnosis actually released the anxiety of the unknown and enabled me to re-channel that energy into accessing the best medical care possible. Tests are the way to understand our physical realities and allow us to move forward, take control, and make choices.
