Art for Healing

Most of us are aware that our environment can have direct effect on our mood. This is common knowledge but often not given too much consideration. To increase the quality of life of those who are unable to leave their room, home or hospital it would be a fantastic idea to bring into those spaces things that bring that person joy. It may be artwork, photos, a bedspread, music, decorative fabric for the windows or stuffed animals. Though personal preferences vary, creating a warm nurturing environment can enhance someone moods and tolerance of certain situations. CBC News recently reported an inspiring example of how two people experienced the gloom of their local hospital and decided to help change the face of the lonely walls.
